Great night at Dukes last night. Like always, the meal, drinks and people were awesome.
Earlier in the evening the SD dorymen and a few "old" lifeguards stopped by with the 1950 Ford pickup truck originally owned by Dale "the Hawk" Velzey, a true jewel and ultimate surfing collectors dream. Lt Mike Baumgartner and MSO Claude Panis gave them a royal tour of the new HB Marine Safety facility, which they enjoyed.
They will continue their journey Sunday morning pointing for Avalon, spend a few days and then head straight home. They plan to sail home with makeshift sails, dory one from a sabot mast and sail and the other with windsurfer sail rig.
