Tree Planting at Norma Gibbs Butterfly Park
From correspondent Chris MacDonald:
On Saturday April 19th, 2008 at Norma Gibbs Butterfly Park in Huntington Beach, a joint effott Arbor Day Tree Planting took place to bring the park back to the butterflies. Thanks to the efforts from the Huntington Beach Tree Society, Public Works and Leslie Gilson, this park was restored. More than 100 people were at the event including scout troops, Huntington Beach Mayor Debbie Cook, former mayor and guest of honor Norma Gibbs.

Curious, no stories about Debbies oil stock holdings. Does she own Haliburton also?

So! Debbie Cook's a militant tree-hugger. Does this mean that I can look forward to her extensive Garden department knowledge at the soon-to-be opened Home Depot at Magnolia & Garfield?
Assuming, of course, that she loses to Dana Rohrabacher in the Fall.

By the way, is that tree making a political statement by not hugging Cook back?
Hmmmmmm.....
