Council to Consider Increase of Campaign Finance Limits

From the OC Register:

HUNTINGTON BEACH Council members will discuss whether they should raise individual campaign contribution limits to $3,000 from $300 at a study session Monday.

A council sub-committee on campaign finance reform is recommending several changes to the city code that could raise contribution limitations.

The study session will allow council members to explore two campaign limit options:

One would set the limit to $420 to keep pace with higher postage rates. The limit would be adjusted biennially and would be retroactive to the beginning of this year.
